"Streets to School" Project

With a 2015 projected population of over 180 million people, Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa. However, over the last decade, the countrys exponential growth in population has put immense pressure on its resources and on already overstretched public services and infrastructure...no thanks to decades of corruption - a very unfortunate situation whose effect is borne by over 10  million innocent children of primary school age, most of whom take to the streets for self-survival.

According to the US Department of state, LESS than one-third of Nigerian primary school students will proceed to secondary schools and the top two factors influencing primary school drop-out in Nigeria are Monetary cost (32%) and Insufficient interest (26%). Eradicating these two remain the objectives of the 'Streets to school' project launched by www.scholarship-nigeria.com  , a website (founded by me in 2009) which has up till 2015 focused on providing scholarship information and advisory services at the tertiary and vocational levels only.

I hope with your joint effort, we can extend the activities of www.scholarship-nigeria.com by sponsoring as many Nigerian students of primary school age (5 - 11) who are not currently in school through primary education.

With an average donation of $20 (each) from 2,000 donors, we can make this dream come alive!
